Financial Considerations
Nar-Anon Literature will need to be purchased prior to your first meeting.  Some of these are: New Group Packet, Newcomer Packets, Blue Books, SESH Books, etc.  Quantities of each should be held to a minimum until your membership grows.  These materials can be purchased through the WSO website – WSO Literature

Newcomer Packets are normally given to new members but Blue Book and SESH Book costs can be recovered from sales to members.

Costs associated with the printing of Meeting flyers should also be considered – these are discussed more under Getting the Word Out to the Public.

As discussed in the previous section, if possible, try to avoid a rental type agreement with the facility providing meeting space.  This cost can seem insurmountable if your meeting doesn’t draw large numbers.

At some point, you may want to set up a checking account for the group.  Try to work with your bank to avoid monthly charges on the account.  If you need an Employer Identification Number click on the following and follow the steps below for assistance:  
Apply for an Employer Identification Number

  • Click on ‘APPLY ONLINE NOW’ at the bottom
  • Click on ‘Begin Application’ at bottom
  • Click on ‘View Additional Types, Including Tax-Exempt and Governmental Organizations’ at bottom
  • Click on ‘Other Non-Profit/Tax-Exempt Organizations’
  • Click on ‘Banking Purposes’
  • Click on ‘Individual’
  • Fill in blanks
